These may include glasses, contact lenses, eye exercises, eye drops, medications, diet suggestions, and/or referrals to the appropriate ophthalmologist. We are familiar with all of the local ophthalmologists and know which specialist will best suit your needs if you require further assessment or surgery.
EYE EXAMS FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends that infants and toddlers have their first eye examination at the age of 6-9 months. Preschool children should have at least one eye examination between the ages of 2 and 5 years (prior to starting school). Children who are 6 to 19 years of age should have their eyes examined each year. All infant and children eye exams until the age of 19 years of age are paid entirely by Manitoba Health.
EYE EXAMS FOR ADULTS AND SENIORS
The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends that seniors and adults undergo an eye exam every 1 or 2 years respectively. This helps detect and diagnose vision changes or problems and therefore maintains eye health. Regular vision examinations are also important for the prevention of vision problems created or aggravated by today’s academic, lifestyle and professional demands. If you are having any issues prior to the time recommended by your optometrist and/or have been referred by your family or specialized doctor, please contact us for an appointment at any time.
ADJUSTMENT AND REPAIR OF EYEWEAR
Eyewear often needs to be adjusted to maintain comfort as well as optimal vision. We offer this service at no charge to all of our customers. We also offer custom repair services including soldering broken frames, replacing lost screws, nose pads and more.
REGULAR AND SPECIALTY CONTACT LENS FITTING
Our optometrists fit all forms of contact lenses including daily disposable wear, extended wear, multifocal, coloured lenses and custom RGPs for people with complex prescriptions or corneal conditions such as Keratoconus. We also offer many options for astigmatism and presbyopia.
